Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Joy & Rejuvenation designed to help?
Joy & Rejuvenation celebrates women aged 45 and up who are courageously navigating life’s most significant transitions—from savoring newfound freedom as empty nesters to embracing wellness journeys after health challenges like heart or weight concerns, or diving headfirst into adventures you’ve always dreamed of. This is your time to reclaim your strength, to prioritize what truly matters, and to write empowering new chapters filled with resilience, hope, and renewed purpose.
What kinds of classes or services do you offer?
We offer a range of yoga, meditation, strength and balance classes, along with wellness workshops and group coaching. Everything is designed with the needs of women 45+ in mind.
Do I need yoga experience to join your classes?
Not at all. Our yoga and movement classes are gentle, guided, and beginner-friendly, with modifications for all fitness levels, body types, and mobility concerns.
How do I get started?
Start by scheduling a free discovery call where we learn more about your goals, challenges, and preferences.
Are your programs based on medication or therapy?
No. We focus on holistic, non-medication-based approaches to wellness. This includes mindful movement, breathwork, emotional resilience, and building strong, supportive routines that promote healing and balance.
What if I haven’t exercised in years - can I still participate in yoga?
Absolutely! Many clients haven’t been active for years when they start at Joy & Rejuvenation. I specialize in gentle, beginner-friendly approaches that honor where your body is today. I’ll help you build strength and confidence gradually. Starting slowly is not only okay – it’s the safest and most sustainable approach.
Do I need medical clearance before starting?
While Joy & Rejuvenation doesn’t require medical clearance for yoga, I strongly encourage you to check with your healthcare provider, especially if you have any health conditions or concerns. If you’ve had recent surgery, a stroke, heart issues, or other significant health events, your doctor’s input helps me create the safest program for you.
What should I expect in my first yoga session?
Your first online session begins with a warm welcome and brief conversation about your goals, concerns, and any physical limitations. I’ll introduce you to other participants virtually and ensure you feel comfortable in our online community. The actual session will be gentle and include modifications for every pose. Don’t worry about “keeping up” – there’s no pressure to perform. I focus on breath, gentle movement, and creating a peaceful experience from the comfort of your own home.
What is wellness coaching and how do I know if it’s right for me?
Wellness coaching is a supportive partnership that helps you create healthy changes that actually stick! It’s all about discovering what works for YOUR life – not following someone else’s rigid plan. Your coach helps you identify what you really want for your health, figure out what’s been getting in your way, and create realistic steps that fit your schedule and lifestyle.
Think of it as having a cheerleader, strategist, and accountability partner all in one. You’ll celebrate wins, work through challenges together, and build confidence in your ability to take care of yourself. The best part? It’s focused on sustainable habits that make you feel good, not dramatic changes that burn you out.
Wellness coaching is ideal if you know what healthy choices you want to make but struggle to make them stick, or if you feel overwhelmed about where to start with your health goals. It’s not therapy or medical treatment – it’s a partnership focused on helping you become your own health expert, with support along the way.
The best way to know if we’re a good fit is to experience it firsthand. That’s why I offer a complimentary 30-minute online Discovery Session where we can discuss your current challenges and goals, explore what’s been getting in your way, and see how my coaching approach feels for you – with no pressure or obligation.
What kind of results do clients typically see with wellness coaching?
The most beautiful transformation I witness is clients developing an “I can do this” attitude and genuine confidence in their ability to care for themselves. They discover clear joy in their wellness journey and learn to truly listen to both their body and mind. Clients often tell me they’ve moved from feeling overwhelmed or defeated to feeling empowered and excited about their health. They develop a loving, compassionate relationship with themselves and learn to honor what their body needs each day. The real magic happens when they realize they have everything they need within them – they just needed support to unlock it.
What makes your coaching different?
My approach is deeply rooted in personal transformation and understanding what it truly means to rebuild from the ground up. Six years after my stroke, living with aphasia and right side weakness, I got certified to teach classical yoga. This journey taught me that healing and growth happen one small step at a time, and that our greatest challenges can become our greatest strengths. I’ve walked the path from “woe is me” to “wow, it’s me!” – and that’s the reality I help clients discover for themselves. I understand firsthand what it feels like when your body doesn’t cooperate, when you feel frustrated with limitations, and when you need to find new ways to care for yourself. This lived experience, combined with my training, allows me to meet you exactly where you are with genuine understanding and hope.
What if I’ve never done yoga before in my life?
Perfect! Many Joy & Rejuvenation clients are complete beginners, and I love introducing people to yoga for the first time. You don’t need any prior experience, flexibility, or special skills. Our online classes teach you everything step-by-step, from basic breathing techniques to simple poses. I believe yoga is for every body, regardless of experience level.
I’ve had a stroke/heart condition - can I still do yoga safely?
Yes, with proper modifications and your doctor’s approval. I have extensive experience working with stroke survivors and those with heart conditions – in fact, I’m a stroke survivor myself. Yoga helped me rebuild my strength, mini step by mini step, and I understand firsthand the healing power of gentle, mindful movement. Our online format allows you to practice in the comfort and privacy of your own space.
What if I can’t get up and down from the floor easily?
No problem at all! Many of our online classes are designed with mobility limitations in mind. New to Joy & Rejuvenation is Chair yoga offering, Thursday at 10 am. All poses can be modified for your comfort level. The beauty of practicing online is that you can use your own furniture and space to make yourself as comfortable as possible.
What if I get dizzy or need to rest frequently during class?
Your comfort and safety are my top priorities. I encourage you to listen to your body and rest whenever needed. Our online classes include natural rest periods, and you’re always welcome to sit out any pose, mute your camera, or take a break. I create a supportive virtual environment where taking care of yourself is celebrated, not seen as a limitation.
Do you offer chair yoga options?
Definitely! Chair yoga is one of Joy & Rejuvenation’s most popular online offerings. These classes provide all the benefits of traditional yoga while keeping you safely seated in your own chair at home. Chair yoga improves flexibility, reduces stiffness, enhances circulation, and provides gentle strength building – all while being completely accessible regardless of mobility limitations.
How do online classes work?
All Joy & Rejuvenation classes are conducted live online through an easy-to-use video platform. These are interactive sessions with live instruction, not just recordings, so you receive personalized attention and modifications in real-time. You can participate from anywhere with an internet connection, using your computer, tablet, or smartphone. The online format provides convenience and accessibility while maintaining our supportive community atmosphere.
How do you create a supportive, non-judgmental environment online?
Community and acceptance are at the heart of everything I do, even in our virtual space. I foster an online atmosphere where everyone is welcomed exactly as they are. I emphasize personal progress over comparison, celebrate small victories, and create space for authentic connection through our live online sessions. Many clients tell me they’ve found their “wellness family” at Joy & Rejuvenation, even though we meet virtually.
What are your pricing options?
I believe wellness should be accessible to everyone. Drop-in online yoga classes are $15, class packages start at $72. Let’s discuss what works best for your budget – I’ll find a way to make it work.
